Windsor, ON – It has been an agonizing one-year wait but local hockey fanatic Derek Simms, age 18, of Windsor couldn’t be happier that his favourite team, the Seattle Kraken, have reached the second round of the NHL playoffs this year. Derek could not contain his excitement on Tuesday evening after Seattle took the first game of round two from the Dallas Stars “You have no idea how long I have waited for the Kraken to get out of the first round. It feels like a lifetime and now we’re up a game in round two!”
Seattle’s hockey team was an expansion team that began play in the 2021-2022 season and this year marks their first ever playoff appearance. Mr. Simms commented further “I’ve been a fan since day one. I didn’t just jump on the bandwagon this year. I’ve followed them from the very beginning… October, 2021.”
When asked about his team’s chances of winning the Stanley Cup Mr. Simms had an enthusiastic response “I think we can do it. We’ve been through so much over the last year and we’ve been waiting so long for playoff success. Name me one team that it deserves it more than Seattle. I don’t think you can. Seattle all the way! Go Kraken Go!!”
