Home improvement project stalls due to Mission Impossible movie marathon

Windsor, ON – A long overdue home improvement project ran into delays ahead of the long weekend when homeowner Mark Buchman, age 35, of Windsor turned on his television and discovered a Mission Impossible movie marathon playing.  “I swear I was just going to put the TV on as background noise and suddenly six hours went by” Mr. Buchman said as he sat with his feet up on the living room coffee table.

Mr. Buchman continued his explanation to anyone who would listen “My wife went to visit her sister for the long weekend and I took Friday off to get a head start on the painting.   I told her to go off and have a good time and I’d have the living room finished by the time she got back.  I was about halfway thru the first coat of paint when I turned on the TV.   I don’t know what it is about these movies but when I see Tom Cruise and all the stunts I get drawn in and lose track of time.”

When asked about the project’s completion Mr. Buchman replied “I’m going to get it done by Sunday, Monday at the latest.  For sure.  No more excuses.”   On-lookers were skeptical of Mr. Buchman’s ability to finish the project as there is a Fast and the Furious movie marathon scheduled for broadcast over the rest of the long weekend.
