Hockey fan hoping for stick measurement in Stanley Cup Final

Windsor, ON – Self-described hockey-nut Martin Lundy, age 49, of Windsor is hoping to see something very specific during tonight’s Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final between the Dallas Stars and the Tampa Bay Lightning a stick-measurement call. “It has been forever since we’ve seen a good stick measurement during the Stanley Cup finals” said Mr. Lundy ahead of the puck-drop tonight.

Mr. Lundy explained further “It is really very exciting. I’ll never forget the 1993 Stanley Cup final when Montreal called for a stick measurement of the Los Angeles King’s Marty McSorley’s stick. It changed the series and Montreal went on the win the game and then the series! We never get stick measurements any more. I sure hope we get one tonight!”

In the opinion of Mr. Lundy he thinks he isn’t the only person who misses the stick measurement call. “My girlfriend doesn’t even watch hockey. Doesn’t know a thing about it and I heard her on the phone last night and I am pretty sure she was telling her sister about a disappointing stick measurement recently. So if it is bothering her there are probably a lot of women feeling the same way”.
