Windsor planning on closing every street for construction

Windsor, ON – The city of Windsor announced plans to close every street for construction starting on June 23rd.  “We feel it will make construction projects feel like less of an inconvenience if we close every street.  Everyone will be in the same boat so it should help with people feeling like their travel throughout city is more difficult than their neighbours.  Instead it will impact everyone the same” said city councilman Frank Edwards on Monday.

“Friday, June 23rd we’ll close every street for some sort of construction, sidewalk repair, manhole replacement or just to run a jackhammer early in the morning” Edwards added while insisting on-going projects will take just as long as planned in the first place.  “E.C. Row and Tecumseh Road will still be construction zones as well so not to worry, closing other streets won’t impact those construction areas”.

All city streets will be under construction from June 23rd until Labour Day weekend.  “We’ll get all the streets re-opened just in time for school starting.  With maybe one or two unexpected delays” the councilman promised.
