New city signs tell drivers how fast their car can go

Windsor, ON – The city has installed new digital signs around the city in various locations to tell drivers what top speeds their vehicles can achieve.    The new signs have been a big hit with local motor enthusiasts.

Michael Markham, age 22, of Windsor was pleased to tell friends and family just how fast his 2006 Toyota Camry can go “I got it up to 92 on Ypres the other day!  My friends said it wouldn’t go over 80kms an hour and I sure proved them wrong.   The sign flashed and changed from the number to the words ‘TOO FAST’ and I thought that was amazing.  It was like it was saying ‘TOO COOL’.   It would be great if the sign said ‘TOO FURIOUS’ after that.”

When asked if he had any complaints about the new speed-signs Mr. Markham did have some thoughts “The sign looks like it only goes up to 99kms.   If I get a car someday that goes over 99 I’d like to know how fast it is actually going.   Other thing is it very difficult to take a picture of the sign when you’re driving.   I tried to take a pic a bunch of times but I had to let go of the steering wheel to get a decent shot.”
