Giant Bong to replace Giant Tomato as Leamington is re-branded Cannabis Capital of Canada

Leamington, ON – In effort to revitalize tourism in Essex County the Ontario Bureau of Tourism announced plans on Wednesday to re-brand Leamington as the new “Cannabis Capital of Canada”.   Leamington has previously been known as the Sun Parlour of Canada and the Tomato Capital Canada but with rapidly expanding marijuana industry taking over the area the Bureau of Tourism felt the time was right for a change.

Bureau spokesman, Jeff Spicoli, announced the change on Wednesday to gathered media “Cannabis is quickly becoming more popular than tomatoes so why not embrace that?   Ask yourself would you rather smoke some weed or eat a bottle of ketchup?   I think the answer is pretty obvious”.

The re-branding of Leamington will be completed in stages. A tourism campaign will be launched followed by an update of road signs, scheduling of the first Cannabis Festival and finally the Giant Tomato Tourist & Visitor Centre will be replaced by the Giant Bong Tourist & Visitor Centre later this year. The new visitor centre will provide information on local points of interest, various events in Essex County and will feature a large selection of Doritos.
