Windsor, ON – A local garden gnome, who goes by the name Curtis, listed his shed for sale in the Fountainebleau neighbourhood on Windsor’s east-side at a staggering $118,000 on Friday morning this week. “I’m seeing how hot the real estate market is and I think it is time to cash-in” Curtis said prior to listing his home.
The teary-eyed gnome explained “I’ve been in this shed for the twenty-one years and I have a lot of good memories but the ceramic ducks and the lawn darts have moved on and I’m here on my own with an old rake. I think it is time to let someone else have the place.”
When questioned about his asking price Curtis was more matter-of-fact than emotional “Look the way housing prices are going in Windsor this is a steal. A dog house one yard over sold for $98,000 last month and I’ve got to look out for my future. I’ve got my eye on a nice condo-balcony that I’d like to put an offer in on. If that deals falls thru I’ll be staying with my cousin. He’s a troll and a has nice a two-bedroom place under a bridge.”
The shed currently has thirteen competitive bids according to the gnome’s representative.
