City to begin roll-out of new snow recycling bins

Windsor, ON – With a new round of snow set to hit the city this coming weekend Ward 11 Councilman Frank Edwards was on-hand today to unveil the city’s latest recycling bin.   New snow recycling bins will be coming to local residences in the coming weeks.

“I’m very pleased with the design and the functionality” Mr. Edwards said to gathered media on Thursday.  He continued “This is a great way for home-owners to store their snow after they have shoveled their walkway or driveway so it isn’t piling up at the curb or sidewalk.   Of course this is for snow only.   Residents are reminded not to put ice in their snow recycling bins.”

When asked when the first pick-up would be for the new snow recycling bins Mr. Edwards was cautious when committing to a timeline “I’m not sure when the first pick-up will be.   The side-streets are kind of a mess.  Most of them haven’t been plowed yet this winter so we may have to wait until things warm up a bit before we pick up the snow.”
