Windsor, ON – Huey Lewis and the News played an amazing show at Caesar’s Windsor on Thursday evening to a sold-out crowd of excited rock n’ roll fans but the show was marred by an ugly event during the band’s encore. During the second encore song, Happy to Be Stuck with You, one man in row eight started clapping along out of time.
Bystanders report the man started out slowly but by the end of the first verse was wildly clapping at three times the pace of the rest of the crowd. “It was very, very distracting” said Mark Buckingham who was three seats away from the offending music lover. “He just couldn’t keep time with the music. It was so bad I thought the band might stop playing” Buckingham added.
Luckily for everyone involved the band finished with the up-tempo song, Working for a Living, which seemed to dissuade the offending music lover in row eight who stopped clapping altogether. “Huey really saved us with that lost song. I don’t think I could have taken much more of the off-beat clapping” said Mr. Buckingham, adding “I’m feeling pretty lucky that guy wasn’t sitting next to me at the Megadeth show”.
